Hello, I was told that there are plans for some enhancements to the
index code in the next release of Firebird and I would like to know if
the implementation of the index duplicates chain is one of them.

I haven't run any tests with Firebird yet but I must assume that 1.5 has
the same problem as IB 6.0.2. Will this be fixed in Firbird 2.0?
