I found that I missed the fine grained control I had with FB/IB. And in some
admin stuff, MS SQL Just sucks.
You want complex? Try Sybase System 11 or 12 ... and Oracle is the same.
And every
single RDBMS I have ever used has its own little quirks and tricks and ways of
doing things.
For it's power and size, I find FB easily the least complex and most
powerful (and robust) RDBMS I know of.
