Personally, I would plan such a change more carefully, because
there might be more involved when switching from dialect 1 to
3.

There are some good articles/papers on SQL dialects in IB/FB
at IBPhoenix.

For example:

There might be others as well. Have a look on them before
migrating a database from dialect 1 to 3.
