Ok, I'll try the RC8. Well, I checked www.firebirdsql.org then the download
section, somehow I can't find the zip archive for windows. Am I blind? Is
there only the source available? (I'm afraid I'm not quite able to compile
it from the src...:-| ). Thanks.

Just as I said I don't know how to reproduce this intentionaly. It happened
3 times in the past month or so. I don't believe much it would be caused by
a virus (resident shield, daily checks and virus definition updates), my
filesystem is ok (checked it now - it also doesn't matter which folder I
have FB currently installed and no other files would simply disappear from
my HD this way...), there is no suspicious soft on my PC (generally just
office & development apps). Yeah and there is a little chance that somebody
else would do it...

I only time to time (let's say 2-3 times a week) use install_super.bat &/|
uninstall.bat (for testing with my application).
