Hi Roland,
We use the latest version 1.5 R8
I will turn off the sweep interval and test it.
I just noted today that if I run my App with a wrong table definition (like
including 1 field that does not exists in the DB), then the APP crashes,
and the allocated memory on the firebird server jumps up 300Meg, and that
migth be the case I was suspecting. I mean, whatever goes wrong with 1
connection generates a problem for the full database server, and it looks
like it can not recover itself, unless restarting. ONE IMPORTANT COMMENT:
Looking into the task manager, in processes, Firebird was using only 250 Meg
ram, but the total allocated memory for the server was 650 Meg, and all the
other processed toghether were using only 120 Meg, so I belive Firebird
Failed to release that memory, but for some reason the task manager does not
show it allocated to Firebird. Very Strange!
I only run Firebird on that server (Win 2k Adv. Server), so it could not be
anything else.
Many thanks
Fabian.
