Thanks Helen and John. I was going through the instructions for mac oxs
from the release notes. In the 3rd step of final instructions, it says
select "firebird_install" folder created from the uncompressed download.
I could not find that folder. The folders created are library and it has
framework and other folders under it. But there isnt a
"firebird_install" folder. Any ideas?

There are installation instructions for mac in the v.1 release notes.
If
they are not in your kit, you can download from
