That's why I wrote that one has to share the whole driveletter...

Method # 3 also works with the sharename only, no driveletter needed. Maybe
that's something you can use until you have the appropriate path stored in
your local database.

As for addressing a local and a remote database at the same time, I don't
have any experience but would be surprised if that's possible.
