First of all: the problem is "solved".
After un- and reinstalling several things (SP, hotfixes)
And also reinstalling firebird, everything seems to be
fine now.
Don't ask me, what exactly was done.
Some guy at our customers place did all the sp, hotfix and
installing stuff.
when I try to access a database from within other tools
(e.g. IBConsole).
