Borland stops support of some components or changes the default
behavior or something like this. You always take a risk.

It depends on a vendor upgrade policy. You also purchase a new
Delphi versions :)

As a third-party component vendor I can assure you that Borland
breaks backward compatibility of its own VCL much more frequently!
Every time this is a big problem to support old and new Delphi
versions together.

You choose wrong third-party tools, I think :). And please, do not
forget that a lot of "standard" Delphi components originally were
provided by third-party vendors.
TB> Poor integration with Delphi.
This is not always correct. Take a look at CodeRush, for example.
This is WOW! A third-party tool...

I'm sure all good vendors will support everything. Delphi, C++
Builder, Kylix, .NET... Nobody abolished competition.

You are not right, IBO includes data-aware compatible components.

You are welcome :). You can try to port your IBX applications to
FIBPlus, they are similar.
