I had the same problem.
Try to allow the inet_connection service (gds_db) in /etc/hosts.allow
the syntax is:
in.gds_db: ip_of_interface # the same defined in /etc/hosts for
instance 192.168.1.1 the ip of the Network Card you want to use to
connect to DB
