Hi there all!
I have decided now is the time to go to 1.5 (as I am still a few
months from completing my app, and by then 1.5 should be 'gold')
Please excuse me if this is the wrong group.
I installed the Win Classic (RC3), but it does not seem to install
the fbserver.exe file, so I cannot connect to anything.
(Everything else appears to be there)
I then downloaded the SuperServer & Classic download, and extracted
it.
This is not a self installing d/l. I did see that it has
fbserver.exe, so I overwrote the whole directory (classic install)
with these dirs/files and all seems to work ok.
Can someone please explain why fbserver is missing with Classic
install, and if what I have done is OK for now.
Or, what I'm doing wrong here.
Also, to my understanding, the SuperServer should only really be
used when on a dedicated machine. Is this correct?
I read in a prior post that SuperServer uses more resources, so this
is merely my deduction.
Rgds,
