You are correct. The developers have located the GDB beneath the
application. This has been working, in our local lab and at two beta
sites. It does not work on our production network, but I suspect
something else is at fault, though I do not know enough about this to
identify what's really going on.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. I have read
through the IB docs and, as much as I can understand from them, I
can't find (or haven't recognized) the preferred connection method if
the BDE is used. Can you point me in the right direction?
If we're not supposed to be connecting to the GDB through a UNC or
mapped drive path, then I'm at a loss. I have no prior experience
with database connectivity of this type before this project was
dropped in my lap (in December). Our developers have provided us with
NO documentation... I've been forced to do all of the research myself.
