I have been running 1.1 of Borland Interbase on my Solaris box and 1.5
of Firebird on ny Linux box. 1.0 of Firebird absolutely fails with a
gbak (restore) of an empty DB on the Solaris platform, sooo I just
cannot use it. Rumour is that the problem is fixed in 1.5 (the source
is as excellent as they come and yes 1.0 of Firbird failed on the
Linux platfor too). I would like to migrate to Firdbird entirely but
there is no 1.5 release for Solaris and much time has passed since
other platforms have been supported.

Is the Solaris platform being dropped?
Can I help and port it?
Or must I go back to Borland?
