Greetings,
I need a database process to be triggered daily, before any user begins
using the system.
A natural solution could be to schedule a script execution at the desired
time. But the server will not be always on-line, so it could be off at the
time the script should execute.
I was thinking in an alternative solution. Whenever a user connects to the
system, it would be verified the last time the process
executed successfully on the database. The process would only execute if
it wasn't yet executed today.
Does anybody adopted a similar solution? What could be the majors
vantages/disvantages?
Thanks.
