Just to give a converse opinion to Lester, I would (and have done) store the
images in the database. You DB is going to be about 5GB, which is very
manageable by anything from IB5.6 up. The performance difference is going
to be dependent on how you deliver the images to the client. In my 2 tier
system, not having to give the client access to anything other than the IB
process was a big bonus.
