If your files are going to be large, very large, then XFS
(http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/). If your database is going to be "small"
and you don't need journaling, then maybe ext2.
ReiserFS still has data corruption problems (I have suffered from them) and,
anyway, XFS is better in all aspects. XFS is included in 2.5.x kernels, but
you will need to patch a 2.4.x one (use the URL above, where you'll find all
the features of that filesystem).
