Hi -
Just downloaded and installed FB 1.5 RC1 on Win2k following the
instructions in InstallNotes.txt included in the distribution:
instreg install c:\tools\firebird
instsvc install c:\tools\firebird
copy fbclient.dll c:\WINNT\system32
copy gds32.dll c:\WINNT\system32
That all seemed to go well, and I can start FB via the Win32 services
interface or as a standalone using "fbserver.exe -a".
When I attempt to run isql.exe however, I receive the following error:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000222). Click on
OK to terminate the application".
I get the same error when I run any of the other client-side utilities
(gsec.exe, gbak.exe, qli.exe, etc.)
This is a (relatively) clean Win2k installation. No other versions of
FB or IB have been installed. Clearing the PATH down to the bare
mimimum (c:\winnt\system32) had no effect.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Miles
