Hi to all ib-support members.
One of my customer's faces the following problem:
Every second or third day after turning on the Server in the morning, the
application can't run as there isn't any respond of Firebird.
If they shut down the (Windows) Server and restart the problem is overcome.
This appeared, after 8 months of no problem use of my software based on
Firebird.
The only thing - as it has been said to me - changed in general setup of
Windows Server is the availability of email for every workstation some days
before.
Some characteristics of system:
· Windows2000 Server
· Windows2000 Pro and Windows98 SE clients
· About 20 client workstations - 2 or 3 using concurrently my - firebird
based - application
· Firebird 1.02 Win32 SuperServer
· Static IP addresses
· Also - after the problem appeared - we updated also the hosts file with pc
names and ip adresses
As I haven't easily direct access to the hardware, I asked from the customer
's responsible staff
to send me the firebird's log file where i found that error 10013 appears:
==================================================
SERVER (Client) Thu Apr 10 07:54:30 2003
Guardian starting: C:\Program Files\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe
SERVER (Server) Thu Apr 10 07:54:33 2003
INET/inet_error: bind errno = 10013
SERVER (Server) Thu Apr 10 07:54:33 2003
Database:
Unable to complete network request to host "SERVER".
Error while listening for an incoming connection.
An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access
permissions.
==================================================================
Could somebody explain the message / behaviour ? What can i advice / propose
to my customer ?
Thanks in advance
