Hi again,

well, I tried in a different machine (now at home) with
the just downloaded IB6 from Borland´s website and...
it works!! so or I have a wrong version there (I will
complain sysadmin... ;-) ) or as you pointed is a
problem with GDS32.dll. I´ll check.

And yes, I´ll have a serious look at Firebird...
