I'm have had a hickup on a site and can't see what has gone
wrong.
Firebird is running fine, and I can access things locally,
but I get a network message saying that the connection was
refused when trying to connect from a remote machine.
I have dumped everything onto another machine which is
currently working quite happily so the customer is running
again, but now I need to fix what ever has broken on the
main server.
Network is 'dumb' hubs ( 100Bt )
W2k Server to W2k workstations ( although a workstation is
currentlly running as server <g> )
No firewall software, internet/eMail is via another Cobalt
Cube machine.
TCP/IP set up with static addresses and HOSTS file.
It worked fine until last week, when a Novell machine
failed, and since it was only hosting old data, which had
now been transfered anyway, it was just unplugged.
Usual statement from customer "I have not changed anything"
<bg>
Any ideas where I should head next?
