Although IB 6.0.1 has some bugs, you must not necessarily be hit by them
(it depends on what your application is actually doing), and most likely
the performance degradation you see has nothing to do with these bugs.

I am 99% sure that upgrading IB server will not help you much.
It must be something in your application, probably some long running
transaction blocking garbage collection, or something like that ...
