Testing with this I hit a snag - that's what beta testing is all
about :-)
I could not connect locally to my database, but using TCP/IP all was
well. Using the old gds32 ( 6.2.2.908 or 6.2.0.794), I could connect
to my database with either FB 1.0.2 or 1.5 beta 4. Using the new
gds32 + fbclient (or fbclient renamed to gds32), local connections
failed with either server version, reporting "unavailable database".
OS - WinXP SP1.
Database location was "U:\Data\LiveText.fdb"
The problem was seen from my own app (Delphi 7 using IBDatabase,
IBTransaction, IBEvents and IBSQL only), from IBConsole and from EMS
IBManager 3.3.0.2.
Is this a general problem with fbclient? (If not, I'll spend some
more time investigating what it is different in my installation.)
