Hi
I have installed Firebird 1.0.2 on my Win2000 platform and am now
trying to install Interclient. I have the Sun JDK 1.4.1 installed.
I installed InterClient from Borland distribution
IC20001winJRE12.exe. It installed ok. The CLASSPATH got added, and
the correct entry appears in the Services file.
I invoked the InterServer Configuration Utility and found that the
service control traffic lights on the 'Advanced' tab were greyed
out. Is that normal?
On the 'General' tab I selected 'Windows startup' as the startup
mode. I rebooted and then the Utility reported that the 'Server
status' is 'Running'. The Service Control traffic lights were still
greyed out.
I then started the InterClient Communication Diagnostics utility. I
set the InterServer Host field to:
jdbc:interbase://<ip address>/C:/track/data/
(I set <ip address> to the local ip address as Firebird runs on the
same machine). This folder holds my database. I then hit test and
got the following error:
***** Error or Exception Occurred *****
java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "interbase:"
***** Installation problem detected! *****
Have I incorrectly set the format of this field?
Thanks
David
