Hi,
I'm having a problem with unacceptably long restore times on a large
(3Gig+) Firebird 1.0.3 database on linux. I do a gbak backup which takes
about 15 minutes and then a restore which takes over 3 hours. This is on
a box with no other users, adequate disk space and 1G RAM.
Not that long ago the restore used to take a little over 1 hour, which
is acceptable for our needs. Has anyone seen this type of behaviour
before where restore times blow out? Others have had admin access so I
can't be certain nothing has been changed i.e. a few indexes could have
been added but nothing I can find to account for a 3 x increase in
restore time.
Any advice or suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
