Yes, I remember that in IB 5.5 the auto sweep when the transaction limit was
reached caused corruptions.
We run FB 1.03 under Linux.
We import loads of data and during our import process there is garbage
created and we do short transactions i.e. on every 1000 records imported do
a commit.
We do regular garbage collection exercises (i.e. select count(*) from
Table_Name) on the tables that we affected in our imports. The garbage
collection happens between each import type i.e. master item data import,
item history import, item forecast import, purchase order import, customer
order import, various item grouping imports etc.
Could it be that one of the garbage collection threads that was running
while imports were running could cause this corruption in FB 1.03?
The site has been running for about 6 months and this database corruption is
an embarrassment for us and I am now under some pressure to understand why
this has happened and how to prevent this in the future. Is there any way to
find out why the database corruption has occurred?
Thank you,
Peter Ypenburg

I have only encountered it on IB5.5 databases. I think that a common
cause was related to the Sweep. I also seem to remember that an
upgrade to IB5.6 was recommended.
