Just a follow up for those interested. It seems that this error was
created by using a C++ UDF on Windoze that did not link with the ms
multi-threaded library. I apologize for the escalation.

On one of our durations test machines we recently got this exception
from Firebird 1.0.2 after about 14 days of maybe 5000 transaction a
