I don't think this is the same thing then. 10054 has happened to me a few
times. It's always caused problems. twice it was a network interface card
(NIC) on one of the machines. the last time it was caused by separated
packets over the VPN provided by the telco - they finally switched it back
to contiguous packets and all my problems were solved. either way it's
pretty fatal for socket connections.
