With all the buzz about OLAP cubes, is it possible for Firebird to
store/provide an equivalent structure via a view that persists across
transactions?

I'm trying to learn about this kind of business analysis as fast as I can,
and it'd be great if I didn't have to change DB to do it.

Does anyone know, in knitty-gritty fashion, how an OLAP cube is represented?
Can Firebird do it?
