You don't install it, unless the one that is installed is a previous
version and your application requires the newer version.

It should be made possible with the final release of Firebird 1.5, but
do you really need 2 FB 1.5 instances running at the same time.
Especially, if the user's system doesn't have much system resources
available.

There is one under Firebird 1.5.

No. It's a DLL that you use. It has the same API functions as the
client DLL, so you can swap the normal client for the embedded DLL.
