From another mailing list :
"It can. Ask on the firebird-support list about indexes of low selectivity
and other issues relating to your database design."
This is something which I have found to be quite badly documented, and it
has taken me a long time to understand how indices etc work. I still don't
understand query plans ...
Could some kind soul either post an article explaining indexes,
selectivity, primary keys, etc., not only for all the newbies, but also for
those of us to whom this is important? It is an issue that I have observed
many people struggle with.
And as another suggestion, could a chapter on the subject be added to the
documentation?
Regards and thanks in advance,
Tim Ledgerwood.
