we now got four times the following messages in
/var/log/messages:

Oct 17 07:32:46 kostili1 xinetd[875]: gds_db: fork
failed: Cannot allocate memory (errno = 12)
Oct 17 07:33:20 kostili1 last message repeated 7 times
Oct 17 07:33:25 kostili1 last message repeated 2 times
Oct 17 07:33:25 kostili1 xinetd[875]: service gds_db:
too many consecutive fork failures
Oct 17 07:33:25 kostili1 xinetd[875]: gds_db: fork
failed: Cannot allocate memory (errno = 12)
Oct 17 07:34:00 kostili1 last message repeated 16
times
...

We use FirebirdCS-1.0.3.972-0.64IO on Red Hat Linux
7.1 2.96-98. The Server is a DELL PowerEdge 4600, one
processor, 3 GB RAM, RAID 5.

While/After this message appears the server slows down
or crashes totally!
