Hello,
I downloaded the firebird 1.0 distribution for HP-UX.
I would like to install and build it.
Unfortunately, I cannot extract the .tar archive:

tar -xvf ./FirebirdCS-1.0.0.821-HP1020.tar.gz .
directory checksum error

can someone help me? Do I have to extract source file on a Linux machine?

we are running HPUX
HP-UX mymachinename B.10.20 D 9000/857 1725036131 64-user license
