I've got this problem only with Linux too, and not at all computers, only a
few (all with RedHat 7.3).
I use linuxconf to configure some parts of the system, now i remembered that
i had to disable an inexistent ETH1 device before Firebird starts to work
with events.

Anybody know an IBX related group that we could ask for answers?
