Hi Marcelo,

First of all - MySQL is NOT free if you're using it for a commercial
project... Read again :)

As for InterBase, the whole open source stopped - no more features,
no more fixes. Borland continued InterBase and version 6.5 is moving
ahead - version 7 will be released before the end of this year. But with
licenses, not for free.

As for Firebird, it is free and said to stay free. Of course, contributions
(sponsoring etc) are welcomed a lot to continue its development.
