I recently installed a system using Firebird v0.94. Version 1 had problems
running on Windows 98 which I'm developing on.

The server it is installed on however is not Windows 98. Am I missing out on
anything major by not using version 1?

Version 0.94 had a much nicer install which allowed me to select which
components to install, especially between the client and the server.
