The 10054 errors that you see in the interbase.log file are network errors (
INET/inet_error) that are simply being recorded by the database. The 10054's
are indicating that the client opened a connection, then died without
closing the connection. This is commonly seen when a user simply powers off
a client computer (running a client application), instead of shutting the
program down "properly"..
If you are seeing these errors as the result of something else, it could be
a bad NIC (network) card, flaky network switches, routers, etc., or simply
bad progamming on the client application(s) (object being destroyed without
closing the connection first), etc.

Attachments do not seem to come through the list server interface. Can
