hi alen,
in other words ....
1.
i press the connect button, its time: 16:36:02
then i wait for the the connection and the first sql.trace in the
sql-explorer ....
2.db connect -> i get the first sql.trace:
[22.08.2002 16:36:12.137] : [Connect]
Connected to 10.10.20.1:d:\db\clientel_db.gdb
[22.08.2002 16:36:12.137] : [Start transaction]
Transaction 16695412 started
Between pressing the button and be connected, i get no trace or anything,
i
had only to wait ..
after 12 seconds this first statement is to see, and i am connected ...
this is the damn situation, hell
and this also happens with a localhost connection or the tcp-ip server
connection ...
yes i say this, i hoped i only dreamed this ..
I can do what i want, nothing changes this damn situation ..
now i try the last one:
1. create a new database (with same tables, generators, indizes, stored
procedures, but a fresh new one)
2. write a programm that only pump all the data from the "bad-connect-db"
to
the "new one"
3. then i see, what happens ...
soon i louse my nervs ....
thks

I'm not with you here...the connect and start transaction occur in the
same
millisecond below...
are you saying this sql statement came at between
[22.08.2002 16:36:22.137]
and
[22.08.2002 16:36:32.137]
and the local connection... so you used localhost:d:\db\clientel_db.gdb ?

sorry, if you are not interessted in my problem, ignore this ....
hi
now i tested with ibexpert and sql-monitor:
if i press the connect button it needs 10 till 20 secondes till the first
sql-statement comes:
[22.08.2002 16:36:12.137] : [Connect]
Connected to 10.10.20.1:d:\db\clientel_db.gdb
[22.08.2002 16:36:12.137] : [Start transaction]
Transaction 16695412 started
okay ...
then i tested with a copy of this db (transprotable backup - and restore
on
my local machine)
with local connection (not tcp-ip) and the same result!
it takes 10 - 20 seconds befor the db is connected.
therefore its NOT an DNS-Problem!
it could be only a problem with this Database, but what can i do?
are there certain gfix-things or so?
-best regards
