I am new to this list. I need some installation support as inducated below.

I am using linux and trying to build/install firebird from sources. I
downloaded the sources and the bootkit and unzipped the archives. ( I did
not see a makefile in the main firebird source .) The bootkit achive gave
1 directory (called porting) with 8 subdirectries. There are no
instructions. I need to know how to set-up the bootkit building before the
configure and setup-build-scripts can be executed. . I would be grateful
for some help on the next step..

If I am on the wrong list please inform and suggest the appropriate IB
list..
