Is the GDB ReadOnly? If you copied it from a CD, this is a common
issue.

I am on a Novell Network and setting up FB remotely on an NT 2000
server.
I am use to Oracle that you just point at the IP address and you are
done. No
security issues at all.
I have set myself up and SYSDBA as users with "Administrative" rights.
When I try to attach through dbExpress, I get:
"no permission for read-write access to database C:\Program
Files\FireBird\data\V250DBA.GDB"
