Subject Unable to connect over DSL
Author Joe Martinez
I'm trying to connect to a FB (0.9.4) server over the internet. Both
the client and server have DSL connections.

The server has two NIC cards in it. One for the DSL, and the other for
the LAN. Machines on the LAN can connnect to the server just fine. The
DSL NIC has a static IP. I am able to ping the server by IP address and
fully-qualified name from the remote client. The server has no firewall
installed, and port 3050 is correctly configured. As I said, the LAN
clients can connect fine.

When I try to connect from the remote client, I get a long delay, then:

ISC ERROR CODE:335544721

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:
Unable to complete network request to host "server.myhost.net".
Failed to establish a connection.
unknown Win32 error 10060

I get the same error if I try connecting via IP address.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Joe
