I am trying to make an internet network connection by specifying the IP address in the location of the database
123.123.123.123:c:\employee.gdb
This works as long as I am located on my local area network, but as soon as I go beyond the local area network,
it says that this connection can not be established.
I can ping the IP address, and I have taken down the firewall, and my interbase server is up & running & my IB Client is installed on the machine.
Anybody have any idea why this will not make a connection to the database.
THANKS
