I am certainly thinking Java is a 'red-herring', except for
causing a page refresh.
Apache is already on the linux machine, so perhaps now is
the time to look at the PHP info. Does it come in SUSE8 <g>

Again this is 'push' technology, but it's probably
acceptable for the present.
