just letting you know that in the next (August 2002) German "iX"
magazin (http://www.heise.de/ix/) an article about the Open-Source
Database Firebird will be published. The August edition will be
available on July 18, 2002.

A new free available database started its career. The Firebird SQL
Server is based on the sources of Borlands InterBase, it is SQL-92
compliant, uses less ressources and has many features, which are
important for fully-fledged RDBMS. Therewith Firebird recommends to
be an alternative (what a joke => this is from me ;-)) to MySQL + Co.
