Lester,
using a RDBMS as a data storage for XML data/documents is currently
a hot research topic, due to the reusability of a mature database
technology for storing structured (XML) data. My diploma thesis
was something about that (sorry, but in German).
If you are looking for articles, research papers and XML integration
products like middlewares, ... you should seriously have a look at
http://www.rpbourret.com
Believe me, you will find definitely an "infite" list of ressources
on the web, but the above should be a good starting point.
