Bear in mind that FB1 still has strong IB opensource roots.
I seem to recall that the beta stuck to the old Borland Interbase
paths... but I just checked my registry and the paths are correctly
set to my firebird install folder. Possibly you have a bit of a path
mess from previous installs of FB/IB? You can manually go in there
and correct the pathnames in your registry if you are confident with
registry manipulation (backup branches first for possible restore).
I do recall having a similar problem with it not being able to find
the message file due to wrong registry path info, but that was R2
beta days.
No doubt FB2 will expunge the last vestiges of IB opensource when
installing. Or not: FB has taken great pains to try to remain
backwardly compatible with IB. Borland have taken the reverse
approach.
