Hi,
Sorry for the lengthy post. But I need some explanation on the errors
found below. They are all in chronological order. Some errors were
deleted from the list since they were only inet read errors.
The user has Interbase 6.01 running under Windows 2000, physical specs unknown.
Here are errors that I found in the interbase.log file of one of my clients:
NTSERVER (Server) Tue May 21 23:26:09 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (wrong record length (183))
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 22 07:14:31 2002
INET/inet_error: read errno = 10054
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 22 08:59:26 2002
C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe: terminated abnormally
(-1)
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 22 08:59:28 2002
Guardian starting: C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 22 09:27:30 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (decompression overran
buffer (179))
This client has been operating without any errors and updates to the
application and database for over 2 months, when this error
occurred. Since then the last error listed above appears a lot, until I
was able to fix it.
This morning these are the errors that were encountered:
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 29 11:49:14 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (decompression overran
buffer (179))
Error below appears three times in a row, with the same time stamp.
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 29 11:50:38 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
I/O error for file "C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB"
Error while trying to access file
The operation completed successfully.
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 29 11:51:55 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (decompression overran
buffer (179))
This error message appears 3 times in a row, with the same time stamp.
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 29 11:53:06 2002
Database: C:\PROGRA~1\FILOPTO4\DATA\FILOPTO.FDB
database shutdown
NTSERVER (Server) Wed May 29 11:53:07 2002
Fatal lock manager error: invalid lock id (0), errno: 0
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 29 11:53:07 2002
C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe: terminated abnormally
(-1)
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 29 11:53:08 2002
Guardian starting: C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 29 12:07:09 2002
C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe: normal shutdown
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 29 12:07:09 2002
Control services error 1061
I'm guessing that this error is because the Windows event log is full.
NTSERVER (Client) Wed May 29 12:07:20 2002
Guardian starting: C:\Program Files\InterBase\Bin\ibserver.exe
Thanks in advance.
