Subject How to do hardware sizing?
Author murmurrer
I am asked to give a sizing for running Interbase 6 on a HP server.
I don't know how to do that. Is there any document available with
steps taken to give an approx. sizing for a HP server.

Here is some info for my situation:

- Server is located in Brussels
- 50-100 clients total for all countries (Holland,Germany,Belgium and
England)
- 4 databases (1 for each country), 10 tables per database
- Web application is built in PHP running on Apache on same server
- Windows desktop application is written in Delphi + IBobjects
- unknown number of queries run from Web application or Delphi appl.
- INSERTS are done only on server
- UPDATES are done mainly on server and some UPDATES on client but
not much.
- DELETES are rarely done.
- 4 Perl scripts are running on the server to retrieve data
from an AS400 and insert it into Interbase.

Can you give me any tips on how to calculate an approx. sizing for
the needed hardware, memory etc. It must run on a HP-UX server on our
intranet.
