Unfortunatelly none of the posted solutions worked :-(
Here is the complete interbase.log :
warmboot (Client) Wed May 15 10:28:32 2002
INET/inet_error: connect errno = 111
warmboot (Client) Wed May 15 10:28:33 2002
INET/inet_error: connect errno = 111
warmboot (Client) Wed May 15 10:28:33 2002
/opt/interbase/bin/ibguard: guardian starting bin/ibserver
warmboot (Server) Wed May 15 10:28:33 2002
INET/INET_connect: gethostbyname failed, error code = 1
warmboot (Client) Wed May 15 10:28:33 2002
/opt/interbase/bin/ibguard: bin/ibserver terminated due to startup error (2)
warmboot (Client) Wed May 15 10:28:33 2002
/opt/interbase/bin/ibguard: bin/ibserver terminated due to startup error (2)
Interesting things :
1)When I boot the machine, in the boot proccess I can see the message
Starting Firebird... (sucess)
2)When I try to restart the ibserver service it says that it was
successfull too, but doing a ps aux|grep ibserver return nothing...
I'm not very familiar with Linux tricks, but I see that the IP for
localhost was set to 127.0.0.1, is that normal ? I configured it to
get the IP using DHCP. The DHCP server is a 3COM ADSL Modem. In
windows 2K the IP is always something like 192.168.1.4 ... Internet is
working OK.
Any more ideas ?
