Hi,
I've installed the RPM pack with Firebird SS on my Suse Linux machine.
FB started after the installation. So far so good.
But: Firebird did not start automatically with boot.
I checked the script. There is the script 'firebird' in the /etc/init.d'
directory. I can call it (e.g. /etc/init.d/firebird start) and the DB
engine starts up and everything is fine.
Next step was to check the symbolic links in my runlevel directories.
Everything was fine: There are links to start and stop FB in the
directories for the runlevels 2, 3 and 5. But it does not start.
Hmmmm... I've created new links in the appropriate directories. But it
does not start.
Any suggestions?
Regards
Micha
