This is the wrong thing to do. You must protect that IB root directory by
restricting it to Administrator and System users. Your security database
is there!

If your users cannot connect, it may be that you are using the wrong
protocol on your network. Please tell us the connection string that is
being used, so that we may help you to correct it.
